The Federal NDP will be holding its 2021 Convention April 9-11. We will be considering resolutions on various topics over the next few months, as we propose resolutions from our local riding and consider other resolutions from across the country. Today, I want to present resolutions from the Courage Coalition http://www.couragecoalition.ca/democratize-ndp/ to make Party procedures more democratic. Specifically, the Coalition is presenting a resolution calling on the Party to make the resolution prioritization process as clear and simple as possible for all members. Currently prioritization is in the hands of the NDP’s National Director, who decides behind closed doors which resolutions will make it to the convention floor. It is a completely opaque process from the perspective of the party membership.

Secondly, the Coalition is submitting a resolution calling on the NDP to make the 2018 policy book publicly accessible, and to ensure all future policy books are released to the public immediately following each convention.
